  • it’s Halloween, and it is Frankentele

you know what time it is and there’s nothing more interesting than a Frankentele. as you knew that telecaster gained incredible fans all over the world because its sound and its simplicity. there are lots of people want to have their own telecaster based on their personal ideas. simply taking telecasters into new genre without disrespecting its history. it’s an amazing story, seeing what telecasters had been through. and i really want to start with the famous one, Steve Morse’s  Frankenstein telecaster. we know who Frankenstein is as well as we know what a telecaster is.

from what i got from musicradar’s article about frankentele, it is really a constant revision and improvement guitar. Stratocaster neck attached into a Fender Telecaster body, installed Gibson Tune-o-matic bridge, a set of Gibson frets and a 12-string tailpiece, also a group of pickups were Steve Morse’s ideas on how to build a frankentele. you can also get info from Steve Morse’s site about his frankenstein telecaster.

well, are frankenteles scary enough for your Halloween? you should have one actually. telecaster inspires lots of musicians and i think I’ll build one of my own frankentele, although my spalted maple tele is a branded franken tele, too with great sound and craftsmanship. there are best guitar parts around and i REALLY want to put them on telecaster model and see what happen.. is an annoying curiosity though..

    how my yamaha CX-40 sounds

what can make you relax sittin’ on your back while you were singing your favorite songs? it’s an acoustic guitar. yes, indeed. the …yes, this is the sound check via video camera. I’m pretty sure you’ve seen my post above about my Yamaha C40 Full Size Nylon-String Classical Guitar previously. it sounds good, while you’ll see that my finger can’t adapt to the fretboard. big fretboard, big nylon strings. it’s too hard for me actually (good excuse for ugly playing, huh? haha)

here few pics of my yamaha cx-40

  • My Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster Spalted Maple Top HH

My Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster Spalted Maple Top HH

YES! now is a great time to bring stuff that made my ass work hard lately and forgot to blog. A new guitar for my playing. it’s Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster Spalted Maple Top tele® HH and she’s gorgeous! I’d been read about this stuff and its reviews several years ago and luckily i met this Fender last year. actually, it took me a year later to take this to my house but i have no complain at all about this spalted maple tele.here i share some pictures i made for this guitar and i think you’ll like it. The guitar itself is a Set Neck Tele and it has beautiful finish well-crafted by Korean manufacturer. this fender special edition custom spalted maple tele is using rosewood fretboard. It has fine playability, the design is natural and very beautiful, i got mine with fire-like spalted maple design.

a brief fender spalted maple telecaster review about the playability that some owners of this guitar said is, Fender Telecaster spalted maple top has a les paul feel. hmm, at first in playing it I couldn’t find this, but after couple minutes, yes, for seconds i felt like i’m holding a les paul guitar. It might be the neck size and color and similar pickups it used those cause this. but the two Seymour Duncan humbuckers operated by push-pull tone knob and three-tone switch are good ideas in changing sound characters on live performances. it’s quite convenient. there’s no complain about the neck, but I’ve been holding the 24-frets neck for years and i guess i need more practices to feel this guitar neck. the guitar neck is great, while me-gotta practice more and more. this two pictures i made here somehow reminds me the led zeppellinsong title, “stairway to heaven“. 😀 i just love this tele..

this spalted maple tele is on 2007 year made, i am the next owner and currently i couldn’t find the new one for this. probably Fender switches this product to Custom Telecaster FMT HH which it has great reviews, too. but i couldn’t make any negative reviews about my Fender Spalted Maple Top Tele® since it has been so great, and the more i couldn’t wait to make video reviews about stuff i use 😀 still making experiments for my own videoblog and sound recording for blogs, wish me luck!

  • Old Fernandes Revolver still rocks!

    Old Fernandes Revolver still rocks!

While until now i still keep my saving to get a fine Telecaster, i currently use Fernandes, a 90’s guitar japanese made. Old enough with good treatment. i bought it from my friend’s store about a half year ago.

Fernandes Revolver FR-55T Made in Japan 90’s era

It is a good guitar with stratocaster tone. with a reasonable price, i got a worth maple wood guitar japanese made. the pickup is Fernandes’, the nuts and the bridge are Gotoh. this is Fernandes Revolver FR-55T Made in Japan 90’s era. Sugoi !

hmm.. what can i say more about this guitar? it well-suited on my hands although i prefer my other custom-made guitar which has smaller guitar neck.

yes, i'm a little guitar guy with bunch of difficulties in learning guitar and still wondering how to play it in best style i can get.

But, indeed it is an old guitar. it has noise as i guess it’s because the circuitry needs to be repaired. renew them with the newest technology. yes, DiMarzio or Seymour Duncan’s stuff would be the best i can get to optimize this guitar performance.
well, i might need to change the bridge, it rusted a little bit. and a lot more i want for enhancements.

but,… on the second thought, i’d like to keep it classic. it would sound like that i have something valuable from the past. i won’t try to make it a “worn-out guitar” by scratching it here and there. i don’t have a heart to do it. when i need a new one, I WILL get one.

here I upload some pictures of it, and what I got form digging information about this guitar is very interesting. Fernandes guitar has been evolving rapidly. they have fine-crafted guitars with good woods and fine materials. Here are some the newest Fernandes products you might be interested in.

nowadays, Fernandes guitar is claimed as rocker’s need while I have the old one with the blues tone. and I think it’s because the pickups evolution. Fernandes Guitars have sustainer system inside them which is likely similar to an E-Bow. I mean the latest ones have them.

I’m still using this guitar because i like the tone its created. that’s enough for now i guess. Another model of fernandes guitar I own goes here >> Fernandes FR55 MTV guitar

and one more model i owned is a Fernandes strat style:

and probably the last thing happened with them is they’re gone for good! please check my article about the Fernandes guitar newest update .

    I’ll see you around
