Fly Rig 5 BRIT guitar effects pedal by Tech 21

Here comes the BRIT version of the Fly Rig 5 by Tech21. It comes in violet theme, bright knobs and amazing sound. It has the simplicity design like the Flyrig 5 first version, but surely this BRIT has more of something than the first flyrig5 has.

    The Design

Looks cool isn’t it? for me the design is by so far the most catchy color, Still with the simple one input and one output, which sometimes we want more features on this pedal. yes, that urge to mix and match the pedals in order tor redefine our tones. it was answered by the last post anyway, about thee fly rig 5 version 2.

    The Sound

what about the sound? yes.. by far it is amazing, Flyrig 5 Brit sounds like the plexi one, but with more rich gain. It is more versatile because with more gain, we have wider range of music genre, and Flyrig 5 brit sounds just great on clean setting. i made the shootout on youtube, here it is:

    Tech21 FlyRig 5 – BRIT on youtube

so by far this is my favorite between all of the first version of fly rig 5. FYI for this Fly Rig stuff, i recorded them all directly through to mixer without any cabinet simulator whatsoever. just using DIbox to get stabilized signal only. The result was amazing. i can go to anywhere gig with this pedal, and since it’s soo small, i can carry it without any second thought. just put it into my guitar gigbag and we’re good to go. I can share no words more than these, let’s the sound speaks up by it self.

  • 1×12 Cabinet with Celestion G12EVH speaker

1×12 Cabinet with Celestion G12EVH speaker

It’s been a while since my last post, and now I present you my huge 1×12 Cabinet with Celestion G12EVH speaker. Technically I didn’t build this cabinet from scratch. It was a cabinet for old days radio and I installed a speaker in it. It was quite difficult decision since Eminence and WGS (and other celestion products such like vintage30 and greenbacks) were available at local stores here, too. But, EVH’s label was such a thing that tickles. So i chose this Celestion G12EVH speaker:

    celestion G12EVH 16ohms 20w

I used cable lugs for connectors to make easier things. I’m very satisfied with this speaker, but who knows, someday I would change my mind about it. I didn’t write much about the speaker, you should go to Celestion G12EVH page for details, but definitely i made a shootout about this on youtube.

    celestion G12EVH 16ohms 20watts
    cable lugs as speaker connector

It’s a 16 ohm 20watts speaker for my Orange Jim Root Terror amp, so my pre-thought was this could be awesome and IT IS. it sounds just great on my huge cabinet. It is built with strong woods, mahogany i guessed, and it’s been here in my place for decades waiting for resurrection. The cabinet size enhances the Low end while still I got the Mid and Treble sound definitions. It is almost like half-stacks but much cooler sounds and looks. see what i mean? 😀

    1x12 cabinet celestionEVH

yes, i didn’t replace the cloth but i’m pretty sure that you noticed I added a Fender Logo on it. for me it’s just cute.

I can’t say much more, but actually I really want to find the old radio and convert it into an amp, but i just couldn’t find it anywhere. this is the best i can do by my self so far and I’m satisfied by it.

Zakk Wylde is one of the great guitarist known world wide. He is the former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and everybody know his bulls-eye-painted Gibson Les Paul custom guitar. Equipped with EMG hum bucking pickups and raw, unfinished maple necks, this guitar is one of best Gibson series ever made. the guitar suits to his character, a distinctive lead guitarist who has amazing solo outings, scorching riffs and remarkable stage performances. He also known as the founder of the Black Label Society.

what really excited me is when he appeared on 2011 American Idol, he was the guitarist for James Durbin’s performance of “Heavy Metal” by Sammy Hagar.  it was a great performance and I’m sure that America and the world wide saw one of the best about heavy metal. it was the time which everyone think that heavy metal will still rule for the next decades. it never goes off. there in the video you can see his infamous bulls-eye gear and his hilarious stage presence.

    did you know?

once he lost his 1981 Gibson Les Paul Custom “The Grail”. Zakk Wylde lost the guitar after it fell from the back of a truck transporting equipment as he was traveling between gigs in Texas. somehow he got it back by trading it with a black double-neck Gibson.
