    Old Fernandes Revolver still rocks!

While until now i still keep my saving to get a fine Telecaster, i currently use Fernandes, a 90’s guitar japanese made. Old enough with good treatment. i bought it from my friend’s store about a half year ago.

It is a good guitar with stratocaster tone. with a reasonable price, i got a worth maple wood guitar japanese made. the pickup is Fernandes’, the nuts and the bridge are Gotoh. this is Fernandes Revolver FR-55T Made in Japan 90’s era. Sugoi !

hmm.. what can i say more about this guitar? it well-suited on my hands although i prefer my other custom-made guitar which has smaller guitar neck.

yes, i'm a little guitar guy with bunch of difficulties in learning guitar and still wondering how to play it in best style i can get.

But, indeed it is an old guitar. it has noise as i guess it’s because the circuitry needs to be repaired. renew them with the newest technology. yes, DiMarzio or Seymour Duncan’s stuff would be the best i can get to optimize this guitar performance.
well, i might need to change the bridge, it rusted a little bit. and a lot more i want for enhancements.

but,… on the second thought, i’d like to keep it classic. it would sound like that i have something valuable from the past. i won’t try to make it a “worn-out guitar” by scratching it here and there. i don’t have a heart to do it. when i need a new one, I WILL get one.

here I upload some pictures of it, and what I got form digging information about this guitar is very interesting. Fernandes guitar has been evolving rapidly. they have fine-crafted guitars with good woods and fine materials. Here are some the newest Fernandes products you might be interested in.

nowadays, Fernandes guitar is claimed as rocker’s need while I have the old one with the blues tone. and I think it’s because the pickups evolution. Fernandes Guitars have sustainer system inside them which is likely similar to an E-Bow. I mean the latest ones have them.

I’m still using this guitar because i like the tone its created. that’s enough for now i guess. Another model of fernandes guitar I own goes here >> Fernandes FR55 MTV guitar

and one more model i owned is a Fernandes strat style:

and probably the last thing happened with them is they’re gone for good! please check my article about the Fernandes guitar newest update .

Transtube Technology by Peavey on PEAVEY bandit 112 guitar amplifier

for couple days i was wandering around looking for what i want to write, and i think i found something interesting. i was on stage performing music with my band and there was a bandit there. A PEAVEY bandit 112 guitar amplifier with transtube technology. such a good looking amp with clean design. it has wide range of tone options while its size is suitable for small room.

what interested does the Transtube technology  have?

i guess peavey want their position back like in the 90’s era when peavey is one of best brand options.

as you can see these knobs are neat and the knobs and switches has “vintage” and “warm” options which are making you easier to get the tone you want. well i couldn’t make any videos about this amp, but you may find good reviews about Peavey Bandit 112 TransTube Amplifier on youtube.

  • my nylon string acoustic guitar, yamaha CX-40

what can make you relax sittin’ on your back while you were singing your favorite songs? it’s an acoustic guitar. yes, indeed. the clear sound defines relaxation and joy. for me, the nylon string acoustic guitar is the best friend in your private time.
what i have in my room? it’s  Yamaha C40 Full Size Nylon-String Classical Guitar. hmmmm,… it’s YAMAHA CX-40 actually, I’ve got it from local store. nice stuff with simple sound enhancement, a Yamaha pickup installed will give the extra value. whether you want to plug it in and record some tones, or you want to enjoy your private moments, this is the best i can get with reasonable and affordable price.” yes i recommend some of my stuff i have, this blog is a kind of voluntarily reviews about stuff those help me to accomplish my guitar playing style. i try to value them objectively, but i guess you will find out that this blog is my whole ideas of my own opinions. it is about guitar, after all 🙂 a musical instrument that owned by heart and played by the deepest feeling.. be cool”

so what is my dislike about this nylon guitar? there’s almost no complain about the crafting and its manufacturing, it is fine by me. it feels good on my hands.

    yamaha CX-40

what i feel annoyed about is, the pickups, it seems Yamaha didn’t take this part seriously. it is noisy, a lot, because from what i felt, the pickups isn’t sensitive enough to get the nylon string tones. it is attached-bridge pickups actually, the advantage of this pickup is, it is not a regular microphone. you won’t get the hum feedback from the body since the sound is directly distributed from strings to guitar bridge.

BUT,.. still it has nice sound comes out from the body. so if you likely want to make a record with this guitar, i suggest you to have two outputs for it. the first output is direct microphone straight pointed at the guitar body, and the second output is from the pickups. that is all i can get, so far, for now. hope you like my stuff here.

ps: i might record my stuff with my webcam and videoblog it, so, this post will be edited in the future for much better information shared.if you don’t like nylon classic guitar you might get interested by yamaha’s steel-strings guitar 500 series
