Marshall MS-2, cute little hard rock served on your desk

This Marshall MS-2 sounds louder than you think. yes, it’s a mini-amps product by +Marshall Amplification and you can have much fun with this. I bought this new and it’s made by Marshall manufacture in Vietnam. Marshall Amplification is a British company, well-known as one of the best guitar amps builders. You may have the big ones, but for this Marshall MS2 Micro Amp, I’d say this is my good stuff.one thing i like about Marshall Amps is that they are being honest about the guitar tones. they will amplify anything that came out from any kind of guitar honestly. if your guitar has ugly sound (like my lovely first electric guitar), then Marshall amps will take that ugly tone into the loudest sound you’ve ever heard.  Actually it’s a real good thing, if you want to buy a new guitar, please consider to hear it through Marshall Amps. (hear check sound: marshall ms-2 here)

    here few pictures i made:

  • Les Paul Gibson, got any words of it?

Gibson Guitar is a worldwide guitar brand and i guess that every human in this world has met with its design. an American maker of guitars which successfully put their products into every guitarists’ dream in tasting the great sound and experiencing its magnificent craftsmanship through guitar playing. and other instruments, now based in Nashville, Tennessee. in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Orville Gibson founded The Gibson Mandolin-Guitar Mfg. Co., Ltd. in 1902 as mandolin-family instruments company. best part of Gibson invention is arch-top guitars model by constructing violin-like guitar models. their flattop acoustic guitars is a legendary legacy through time known as hollow-body electric guitars. And Yes, Gibson has it. one of the world’s most collectible and iconic guitars, the Gibson Les Paul. And since then, Gibson built famous guitar models which are imitated by lot of guitar brands, I’ll say it,”Gibson guitar is an inspiration”. Gibson company has legal copies of its famous guitar models which are cheaper than guitars with Gibson name on them. For example, the Les Paul model is sold under the Epiphone brand, while they have their own model such like the Sheraton and Casino, and i have a Les Paul style guitar, the gorgeous Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet. there are so many variant in designs for Les Paul model itself. too many? i guess it’s not, since these models built modern music through time. here are few pictures of them:

  • Blues, why? Why not?

Some say that when we learn guitar playing, it’s a direct fast lane to Bluesmusic, and i believe that. Some of us might said “no! it’s METAL! distortions! the spirit of on-stage performances take control!” or even such like, “you’re totally misunderstood,  the notes will lead us into harmony, yet jazzy or classical, it’s a way in understanding beautiful scientific-audible math.. bla bla..” “blahh..”

    blues for guitar
    Add blues on your playing

yes, i still believe in blues. somehow it connects all guitar players, and connecting guitar players to other music players and the audiences. what is blues, actually? it’s only a music genre, right? what’s so special about it? here some thoughts i have about it.

blues is inside of guitarists’ hands. it’s pentatonic, just like world traditional scales in almost every cultures. when it comes to guitar playing, blues is the place where the wrong notes against the right ones and collaborate. it is allowed us to explore more. No judgements, sins and punishments for the wrong blues notes since they are the part in balancing and perfecting the right blues notes. each note helps each other to become perfect harmony. you can’t be so right in notes without knowing and experiencing the wrong ones.
the wrong against the right” – quoted from Don Mock: The Blues From Rock To Jazz.

other source i agree with, is quoted from Rod Stewart. on my understanding, he said that in modern music, Blues is the catalyst. each of music genre is connected with blues, and they may be the branches from the blues as root.

one more thing about why it is important in guitar learning is, blues teaches and connects us guitar players in humble way. slow, medium of fast bluestempo will connect various interests. the  bluesnotes trigger the eagerness of beginner guitar players, while the advanced/experienced players will get deep understanding with the history of it. (this music genre carries vast histories among people around the world, see more at wikipedia about blues)

it’s a brief about blues. very interesting isn’t it? well, i hope you can see it through my thoughts about this and i guess I’ll keep loving blues like i always do.
